Steve’s creation, On Wings of Song, was written to be performed by a woman with a lovely soprano voice who could hit very high notes. When she finishes her artistic, ethereal chorus, the doors burst open and in come the cast on roller skates, flapping their wings. “When things like this go well, they achieve a lunacy that is great fun.”
I was fascinated to write something for a Greek chorus, so I had everybody in togas with wings.
